York County has officially moved to the green phase of reopening and we at the History Center can’t wait to see you! We are excited to announce our reopening date of Friday, July 10th to the entire public! We have been waiting for this day for months and we know you have too. As a special thank you to our members who have stood by us during this time, we will be opening our sites for a soft opening on Tuesday, July 7th – Thursday, July 9th just for members. This date may seem far away still, but we are working non-stop to get our supplies and sites ready for visitors again.
Before we open our doors to the public again, we have some steps to follow behind the scenes. The safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff is paramount to us. We have our own green phase reopening schedule that we are following. First, our entire staff is going to return to the buildings and learn our new protocols. Next, we are going to invite our volunteers back who have been patiently waiting to return and help out. Once our entire staff and team of volunteers are trained in safety protocols and new procedures we will welcome the public.
Please note that we have adjusted some of our protocols to ensure the safety of our visitors. While we will have signage at our sites explaining these changes, please take the time now to read through them so you are prepared to safely join us at our re-opening.
- We will honor and respect your health by wearing masks and require you to do the same.
- ALL our sites will now be open from 10am to 4pm to allow appropriate cleaning before and after each day.
- The Library & Archives will be running on a ticket system. You will need to make reservations. There are both half or full day options.
- Public programs may require reservations through our ticketing system to adhere to capacity rules.
Reservations and tickets will soon be available on our website. Visit https://www.yorkhistorycenter.org/ for your library, tour, and program reservations and to purchase museum tickets digitally. We can’t wait to see you in July and thank you for your continued patience!
